We used this as our main meeting points for our group since it is the easiest landmark to find. Would not recommend buying your... Piazza San Marco We was here in the last night of Venice's festival. So romantic to spot many couples kissing passiontely in this square. Never forget this trip Lots of fun! Great people-watching here, and tons of good shopping all around the Piazza. There was a long line to get into the cathedral, but it was worth it to look at all of the gold mosaics. Wish I'd had more time! This is the perfect place to sit and people watch. There's plenty of entertainment, from watching tourists get swarmed by pigeons (don't ever buy pigeon food from locals here!), to painters... I miss it! This was the best place for shopping while in Venice. There were stores around the perimeter and all in the middle were carts and merchants selling goods. Going there again! I have been to Venice 5 times in all and feel so at home there, it is as if I lived there in a previous life as I seem to be drawn to returning over and over. To be in St. Marks Square on a warm...
