Loved the historical aspect of it but i could do without all of the gypsy vendors and teenage smokers. For Free! Grab some gelato and sit on one of the steps in the Spanish steps. Enjoy the view, people watch, learn about the history. Shopping is also around the corner, but bring a lot of cash! This was Rome! Climbing down the Spanish Steps was brilliant. As we turned and looked back up, the sun was setting and the people were out on the Steps. It was like a dream. We saw fashions walking around that... No hurry, no hustle, no pressure. I walked about 1/3 the way up the... WONDERFUL The Spanish steps and the Keats/Shelley house are a must in Rome. Great flower stalls for the romantic experience. American Express(in the piazza) gives a really good exchange rate for travellers... FUGGEDABOUTIT I couldn't wait to visit the Spanish Steps while in Rome, i read it's history and saw it on an episode of "Everyone Loves Raymond".
What a disappointment, i was there in NOV&... Rome is Lame take my word for it. Rome is not a place to go on vacation! It is dirty, the people are mean, and it is downright boring!
