Because of that, tons of people do it and it doesn't take very long. If you're into hiking and less touristy type of things,... Breathtaking  The Hike up cand be moderately strenuous but the view from the top is amazing. The cost is only a dollar. Be careful there are some steep stairs and most of the hike is on a natural uneven trail Fantastic island views This hike is worth going on, as intimidating as the climb may seem. It's about a 1.4 mile walk up the inside crater of the volcano. The path starts out on cement, but then turns to dirt paths... Totally worth the hike!!! When we first got there, I didn't think we'd have to walk TOO far. Oh was I wrong! The hike is only about 2 miles at the most, but it seems a lot longer because you are going up steep sides... What a beautiful view from the top! The hike to the top, while it can be challanging for some, is well worth it at the top. The view is SPECTACULAR, and the trek up is scenic as well. Once on top, you have a 360 degree view of the... Wow! This was one of the highlights of our trip. Be pepared to hike, though! A lot of people were walking up this trail with sandals or even high heels, and it is a trek.
The 99 stairs up take some... LEAVES YOU BREATHLESS The very first thing I saw after spending over 4hrs on a non-stop flight to be with my girl was Diamond Head pushing itself out throught the tropical colored waters toward the plane and sky. It... Good way to get the heart pumping  I love the slow hike up to the top and the veiw was great while going up. I was a little rough when I got to the stairs because of the angle of them and other people were going slow which made it... LOVED IT The hike up this mountain was truly very exhausting!!! and if you're like me I very rarely do hikes, but when you reach the top of the mountain the view is Breath-taking!!! But honestly saying... Diamond Head state Park I was impressed with the natural beauty of this park. I could have stayed there forever.
This is an excellant place to take the family and to enjoy the day.
