We took the AMTRACK ( it was a big thing to take the train anywhere) and had a great time. As a child in a place so far away... MEXICO IN THE HEART OF LOS ANGELES I HAVE BEEN TO LA PLAZA DE OLIVERA MANY TIMES SINCE I WAS YOUNGSTER. AND TIL THIS DAY I EVEN ENJOY IT MORE. LA PLAZITA HAS SOMETHING FOR EVERYONES HEART. ITS MANY SHOPS WITH DRIFFERNT MEXICAN HAND... haha lame but ok every time i go there my parents are always happy to be there. im not, is so lame, high prices for a small souvenire and everything is borING! i may be part of my culture but that place is not.... Dirty Taquitos I have been eating at Cielito Lindo restaurant since I was two years old. I recently went with my wife to get our taquitos. The cashier took our order and we paid for the food. What happen next... A Heartbreak Roller-Coaster Ride I wanted to take the opportunity, to give my impressions, of an old landmark restaurant, on Olvera Street. The name of the restaurant is "Las Golondrinas". For years, I had many lovely... Visit there often It is a charming place to taking an occational viewing of Aztec dancing, great food and many shops to choose from. My only complaint is the coffee shop the coffee was terrible and the service even... A Grande time was had by All! We had so much fun here looking at the shops, buying completely affordable souveniers and enjoying a great lunch. Will definitely come back here on our next trip to LA! Don't miss it! home away from home whenever i'm in los angeles, the one place that makes me feel at home is olvera street. the chicano population is heavy, and the food, though not authentic is close enough (where else outside... culture and history If you want to experience a part of old Angeleno culture and history (or want to learn more about it), you'll enjoy olvera street. There's no other place in L.A. where you can view historical... better than expected I went there not expecting much, but it was very nice. Some good souveneirs for my wife and daughter. Nice way to ease into the trip to LA.
