Marseille was the first foreign country that I had ever visited ever. This would be the test plate for... A great French port city After getting off the TGV, getting around the city was so easy. There is great shopping and wonderful dining, especially if you like seafood. Don't miss the cathedral on the top of the hill... Marseille France......... I visited Marseille France twice in my life time. Late 80's and mid 90's. Busy place that's for sure! The food was excellent. I ate mostly from food venders and I ate at a McDonalds... I'd call it as a nice cozy city. I don't know if a city can be very cozy or if many would agree with me that Marseille is but I just got the feeling when I was there and that was an experience that came according to three weeks... Marseille? Has a soul, breathes with every step, changes in every corner, surprises you when you leas expect it...
Architecture is full of myths and legends throug centuries, people are great, weather is... My favorite town in France! for everybody when they think France they immediatly think Paris, but for me Marseille is much pretty and friendly ..there's a beautiful and huge beach,also there's little islands to visit... Wonderful! Marseille is filled with history, culture and friendly people! The beaches are beautiful and the architecture is amazing. The churches are especially beautiful. There's also nice places to hike... The french Chicago Character, raw, and balls. Great rhythm and achitecture. A perfect city to wander, a hell of place for the rambling man. Ideal setting for a crime-story. Uplifting with sinister seduction. I'd love to go back I loved the architecture. I loved the shopping. Friendly people. With my weak French skills, I had no problem. Most shop owners spoke English!
