All Answers: Answer #1 Should you travel to Tokyo? I'm not sure. Tokyo is far from Osaka. But If you plan to stay in Osaka for 1 week you should visit Kyoto. I think the prices of milk and burgers in Tokyo are almost the same as ones in Osaka. - answered by straycat
Answer #2 Honestly, I would say it was a good choice. Price wise, Hawaii and Japan are the same. Hawaii because of its tourist appeal, Japan because it is Japan. There is much more to do and see and experience in Japan. Do everything you can within your budget. But be sure to make a budget and stick to it. It is so easy to over spend in Japan. Once you start spending, you open the floodgates, and the visa bill will give you a heart attack when you get it. The trip from Osaka to Tokyo is not that long by bullet train, but a bit expensive. If you want to save money, stay in Osaka, there is enough to see and do there. But Tokyo is the unrivaled center of Japan, so you have to go.Carton of milk, 105 yenCheeseburger happymeal 400yenpint of Beer 250-600yenDinner at a restaurant 500-10,000 yen, depending on what you order and the restaurant.Osaka has Universal studios Japan. A great place to visit. Osaka has two airports one in the bay and one at the Northeast shore of the bay. Right in the city. Not sure of the electronics district in Osaka, but in Tokyo, it is Akihabara.I am assuming that you are in australia, so the time difference is only an hour or two. Not much of an issue.Good luck and enjoy your trip. - answered by Looking for the truth...
Answer #3 Have you booked your hotel in Osaka for 7 days? If so, it is tough to travel all over Japan. Day trip destinations from Osaka are Kyoto, Nara, Kobe, Himeji, or Biwako area. You can spend a week easily visiting those places. For electronic stuff, Nihonbashi (near Namba) is equivalent to Akihabara. But I recommend Yodobashi Camera, a huge store, next to Osaka station for their tax refund system for tourists. November is beautiful season in Japan. Color of mountains near Kyoto is breathtaking. You did a good bet. Enjoy! - answered by Dash
Answer #4 If you are flying into Osaka, you will be pretty close to the city when you arrive, a short train/bus ride will get you into the heart of the city.Osaka was a very interesting city when I was visiting last year. It is not as easy to navigate if you don't have good Japanese language ability (reading ability is very helpful) In Tokyo, almost all important signs had English underneath or translation, on train signs, menus, ect. In Osaka, most of the helper english was missing, I was lucky that I had studied hiragana and katakana so I could at least sound out/kind of read the station names to get where I was going. Things you should see while in Osaka, Universal studios has a theme park there (I'm pretty sure its universal) Osaka Castle was a great day trip, Spa world was also great, however inside the spas they are seperated between the sexes so you could only meet up in the common areas and restaurants. You could also take short trips to Kyoto and Nara during your vacation as well. Both are great places to visit and are planned on my next trip.If you are only in Japan for a week, and are flying into Osaka, I don't think it would really be worthwhile to spend the 2-3 hours and the $150 usd each way to ride the shinkansen up to Tokyo. Tokyo was great, Osaka nearly as good. With Kyoto and Nara so close, If you had a 2 week trip I would say go to Tokyo for the 2nd week. Last year, I visited for a month in Japan, I rented an apartment for the month, had a JR rail pass, I went to Osaka for a week and had a blast, Shizuoka for a few days with friends and generally just had a great time all over. - answered by Norsehawk
