Question : Is it better to travel to Munich or Zurich?
I wanted to travel to Germany or Switzerland. I wanted to visit Frankfurt plus both Zurich/Lucerne and Munich but I found out that I might not have enough time to visit Zurich and Munich. So I have to chose one of them. Is it better to travel to Zurich or Munich. Which one has more attractive places? Thanks in advance for your answers. Thanks for yout two answers. I arrive in Frankfurt in July. And then I want to see another city. I stay for a short time (Less than a week).I arrive from Montreal Canada and I also want to travel with train when in Germany.

All Answers: Answer #1 You have to make up your mind for what and where you want to go.Now, how long will you be visiting? If you have a couple weeks, no problem, you can do what you want to do first. Either Frankfort or Zurich or even Munich is fine. What mode of travel will you be using to go to theses cites? By plane, train, car????If you wan to be "centralized", I will suggest Zurich, but again price may direct you to fly to Frankfurt (don't know your departure city) - answered by japou
Answer #2 If your choice really is between the two cities, Munich has more to do and see. Zurich itself is a commercial/banking center with a few museums - nicer than Washington, DC but not as interesting. However, both are surrounded by areas that are fabulous(southern Germany & Austria for Munich and the rest of Switzerland for Zurich). Switzerland as a whole is a wonderful place to visit and many of its famous attractions (Jungfraujoch/Eiger, Matterhorn, etc.) are within a long day trip from Zurich. If you go to Lucerne, try to stay at the Hotel Wilden Mann ( http://www.wilden-mann.ch/englisch/uns/uns.htm).Don't view the trip as a true "once in a lifetime" event. Go with what seems best for your schedule and the time of year. The other place will be waiting for your next visit..... - answered by Barry
