Question: Corfu - what's it like?

Home  » Corfu, Greece, Europe

Question : Corfu - what's it like?
We are thinking of booking a holiday to Corfu this June, simply because it's fairly cheap (we don't have much money!) and it's not too far to travel with our 8 month old son. Any info on Corfu and what it's like would be appreciated. Thanks.

As the Sun would say Cor -fu aint it hot. I went there years back. The big place was Benitses but i stayed in another resort on the south of the island. Well depending on what kind of holiday you are after ,i think i would suggest you go to Rhodes instead ,its much nicer. Make sure you take lots of suntan lotion and a hat and be careful of the little one in the sun because it gets to about 100 degrees f there in summer ,about 38c pushing to 40 c. Anyway all in all Greece was one of the better places i have been ,so you should be alright. Have a nice time and take care.

I had a great time in Corfu. Some of the resorts are a bit overdeveloped but there are still some fairly relaxed places left to go. I stayed at Paleocastrita which was beautiful (but quite hilly)Check out www.greekisland.co.uk/ for an impartial review on all the resorts on the island.

It is so nice that we had to keep revisiting it and its sister island Kefalonia. You will have a brilliant time, the weather is gorgeous the sea is amazing. One thing I would recomend would be to hire out a little boat for the day, explore the sea drop the anchor and jump in at any time you feel like, then when ur a bit hungry simply find a taverna (there are hundreds by the sea) and the waiters will see you approaching and help you tie up the boat while you can get yourself seated and enjoy a cool beer !! You've made me think about this too much now I want to book my holidays now !!!Have a great time I promise you will

We went to Sidari a couple of years ago and was eaten alive by mosquitoes, not a place for a small baby. We found it dirty and were glad when the holiday was over. Sorry, but thats our experience.
