Question : How long does it take to travel from Transylvanato Athens? What's the best way to travel?
A group of us want to travel though Central and Eastern Europe at the end of the summer. We had thought about starting in Budapest, spending a night or two then before busing to Transylvania. And from there we're not sure... We had thought about trying to get to Greece and flying out of there or mybe Croayia. Having a lot of difficulties sorting out trains though and seeing times. The most we want to travle for is about half a day. So is it doable? To go from transylvania to Athens or Croatia? Do we need to go through Bucharest to get international trains? Help, suggestions would be great!!

All Answers: Answer #1 I don't know if are there any international trains from Brasov (Transylvania's most important city) to Croatia or Greece. I think there are just flights and only from Bucharest. Bucharest is 2.5 hrs away from Brasov (by car). - answered by DreamGirl
Answer #2 Why don't you go to Greece in this way: Romania-Bulgaria-Greece ? Or by bus ? From Romania I think that there's a bus directly to Greece going through Bulgaria. Time needed should be about 7-8 hours from Transylvania to Athens (if the bus's speed is 100km per hour). PS:I'm suggesting you to pass through Bulgaria because it's part of the EU and you won't have any problems on the border. http://encarta.msn.com/map_701517168/Transylvania.htmlGood luck - answered by George
