Question : The Oaks Mall or Camarillo Premium Outlets?
Can anyone offer any advice for shopping in and around Los Angeles. On our visit to California we will be travelling down from San Francisco via Santa Barbara into LA. On the last part of our route I have been recommended two places to shop, the Oaks Mall and the Camarillo Premium Outlets. Which of these is the best if we don't have time to visit both?Where else is good for bargain hunting in and around Los Angeles?

Camarillo Outlets is the better choice.

Camarillo, although if you are willing to drive about another 1 1/2 hrs I would suggest Ontario Mills (Junction of I-10 and I-15). Don't go to the Oaks--- that place sucks!

Between these two choices, Camarillo is definitely the place to visit. There are so many more stores and you will find much better deals there. The Oaks Mall is a decent mall, but it is currently undergoing a major renovation. It will be a much nicer place to shop in a couple of years, but for now, it's not terribly exciting.If you want a real fun shopping experience, visit Santee Alley at the fashion district in downtown LA. It's best to go there on a Saturday morning when it's really bustling with activity. Put your game face on an get ready to haggle for the best deal. It can be intimidating but it's fun, if you're into that kind of thing.

definetly Camarillo Outlets since it has all major shopping brand. You can also go to Citadel Outlet which is located by Fwy 5 (City of Commerce). It is not as big as Camarillo, but they just renovate it.

Both. The outlets are a lot of fun. the Oaks mall is good. However, some of the big shops have closed as they are preparing for some construction. If the Oaks is as mess save your money for the Beverly Center or Century city. The mall along State Street in Santa Barbara is really nice, asit has a Nordstoms and is very Beautiful. check out the peir and Santa Barbara Winery Have fun!
