i stayed in napili bay. it was so beautiful! but lahina is a great place to sho. and ther are shops for tourist activites.. of course go snorkeling! but you can travel to molokini (a sunken volcanic crater that is a little ways offf the coust. i hear it has great snorkeling!) but we went on this trip where we went on a raft(motorized of course!) to the island of lania and snorkeled there! there are alot of things to do.. but lahina was beautiful! but stay in napili bay if you havent chosen a spot to stay yet. it was sunny and not to rainy. althoguh i was laying out on a lounge chair and it rained. but was still sunny. i still stayed out. =) there are many snorkeling spots! but the rip to lania was pretty expensive. abotu 100 dollars per person but it includes a delicios lunch (sodas, croissan sandwhiches, chips, cookies) yum! and the beah you go to is equipt with bathrooms and all! email me if you want! there is always a luau as well (sp?)if you are in lahina BJ's Pizzaria is delicious! the best ive had!

In the summer months on the Lahaina side you can rent Jet Ski's, go parasailing, rent Kayack's, take a snorkeling trip on the boats, go hiking fishing golfing tennis, excellent restaurants, take a tour of Lanai, or Molokai, go shopping on front st. Lahaina, or whalers village. My most favorite and spirtual place is Hana, as it is very beautiful and full of Aloha, as long as you do not have attitude and respect the locals that live there. The Hana Hotel is by far the best hotel on Maui, but very expensive. The Kaanapali Resort, is a great place to stay,as the weather is almost always good , with little rain. I like Papakea Resort, or Paki Maui, as they are both on the ocean on the west side, and they are condo's. Check out vacation rentals, Maui, and you will find almost everything you need. Aloha, Ron...

Make sure you spend a day driving the Road to Hana. It takes you through the beautiful rain forest and you can see some great scenery and waterfalls. It stops at a gourges black sand beach. That was the best thing I did when we went. Go snorkeling. Your hotel will have info about day tours. We went out on a boat, they served luch, beer, and took us to the Crater and some other famous snorkeling spot. We saw beautiful fish and sea turtles. The Gazebo at Napili Shores on Maui serves the best pancakes, Mac Nut, or banana, pancakes with a cocnut syrup. besides the pancakes it is on the beach where you can see surf and whales. an unbelievable combination there is a line out the door from 7:oo am til 2:00pm every day. it does not get much better. We also rode bikes down the side of the volcano. You have to get up early to do it but the views were amazing and we got to see Maui's "country side"
