Question : What is best and cheapest way to travel from Stockholm to Amsterdam, preferably lots of train travel?

Exsqueeze me? You *want* lots of train travel?? Do you realize this trip will take a minimum of 16 hours and 11 minutes? That's a lot of butt-in-seat time. I like trains, too, but if train trip is more than 5 hours, then I try to fly--especially when the scenery won't be that good, and in this case it isn't (Stockholm to Copenhagen is about 5.5 hours by train). But if you must, then that's how I'd break it--train to Copenhagen, very easy, relatively quick considering the distance, 1 change of train max (some go all the way through), and it stops right at Copenhagen's Kastrup International Airport. From there, you can take Sterling to AMS for about €47 with taxes included.
