Question : I want to vacation to the Reno, NV area, should I stay by Reno or Lake Tahoe?
I've Vacationed to Las Vegas and I love the 24hr lights, people and gambling. Is Reno like Vegas?I will be traveling alone, I'm looking and my interest are clubs, late night, gambling, drinking and pretty much everything I can't do in excess when my girlfriend is there.Has anyone been to Reno? How much trouble can I get into in one weekend and where can I locate it at?Any must see attractions? Any help would be appareciated.

Both Reno and Tahoe and much smaller than Las Vegas. Reno has more casinos than Tahoe. Lake Tahoe is beautiful. The huge crystal clear lake surrounded by the Sierra Mountains is one of the most beautiful sites in California.Neither have all of the shows you find at Vegas. Lake Tahoe will have snow during the winter so bring chains if you go. If you aren't a skiier, you might want to try Reno during the winter. Many of the casinos offer great deals on rooms and the deals will probably be better in Reno. You'd probably like to stay downtown where you can walk from one casino to another. In Tahoe, I'd recommend South Shore.

Reno is much smaller than Vegas, but does have the 24 hour mentality. In Reno, your best bet would be to stay downtown. There are a few big casinos and a couple of clubs which are open until the wee hours of the morning (Bubinga and Brew Brothers are a couple). There are also several bars open 24 hours down town so you shouldn't have any problems getting a few drinks and finding trouble. If you're looking to stay at the lake, there are also several casinos within walking distance of one another. The lake is also starting to be a little more high-class. Their clubs are more like those in Vegas, though probably not near as crowded. You'll pay more up there, too, especially since it's ski season.Must see attractions...it's Reno so not really. If you're a skiier or snowboarder, check out Tahoe. Squaw is one of the biggest resorts and Heavenly is probably the most familiar. Good luck.
