Question : i have a green card, can i travel to costa rica with it? thank you?
As far as i know, i need a travel passport to travel to costa rica, but one man i've met told me he didn't have a travel passport and went there only with his green card, could someone please clarify on that, thank you very much

All Answers: Answer #1 You will need a passport to get back to the U.S. Even a U.S. citizen needs one. It used to be that you could use a certified birth certificate to go to Costa Rica if you were born in certain countries--the man you met may have done that. Now everybody should have a passport. The visa requirements will depend upon the country that you have a passport from. See the website below for requirements. If you are still unsure, call the airline, they are liable and subject to fines if they let someone on a plane who does not have proper documentation. - answered by yellowstone
Answer #2 yes! it all depends how you are going to enter the country, whether you're driving, taking a boat or a plain, obviously it will be difficult to take a plain without a passport. - answered by norberto s
