Question : Need immediate advice How to travel to San Francisco from Chicago really cheap?
Looking at all options including asking a trucking company if I can catch a ride with one of their female drivers. Also I need to be in downtown SF by Thursday the 28th at noon. Thanks in advance!

You can always try flying standby. It's not really expensive, but it's a bi*** and really inconvenient.

Pack yourself up and ship yourself UPS. I guess somebody already tried that. Bad answer. I thought of the trucking thing too. You'd have to find an independent trucker, because of liability. No trucking co. would ok you to ride along. Good Luck.

Greyhound and Amtrak would be impractical and time consuming (2 full days of travel, at least. Not counting necessary stops and sleep. You might not make it even if you left the Loop...like...right...now).Technically, it's illegal for a shipping company like UPS to carry passengers on their vehicles. They're not licensed for it. That probably wouldn't work out unless you actually knew the driver you want to hitch a ride with.Looks like the only way you'll get there on time is on a flight. Midway to Oakland is generally cheaper than O'Hare to SFO. Both Oakland and SFO are served by BART trains (which will take you downtown in roughly 30 minutes), but only SFO has a station inside the terminal building. At Oakland, you'll have to take a short shuttle bus ride to the Colliseum station.
