Answer #2 As long as you have a goverment issued ID to match the name on your birth certificate, and the birth certificate is an original raised seal birth certificate ... you should be fine. Starting January 2007 everyone travelling in/out of the USA MUST have a goverment issued passport. You can call the embassy or passport agency that is issuing your passport and advise them that you are travelling soon, they will expediate your passport request for a fee. - answered by londonhawk
Answer #3 yeah i think it would be a pain, if you do go with out your passport i would bring 3 things to identify your self like a birth certificate, drivers license, state ID, maybe credit cards or social secrurity card - answered by wwarsinski@sbcglobal.net
Answer #4 It's pretty easy. If your under 16 you will need a birth certificate and a notorized parental letter of consent. If over sixteen you will need a governement issued photo ID such as your drivers liscense. If you do have a passport it is good up to five years after expiration. You will also need a departure ticket or a ticket showing you will be moving on from the Bahamas. The longest you can stay is 8 months. After December of this year you will need a passport if traveling by air or sea. If going by land you will have until December 2007. - answered by ahnorm

Answer #7 No. It's not a problem at all. I've been all around the Caribbean twice with a driver's license and a birth certificate. That's all you need until the new passport law is enacted. - answered by Justme
