time taken. Is it OK to follow the route, London, Paris, Milan, Rome, Athens. Looks shortest on the Map.

HelloI think the shorter will be high speed train from London to Paris (Arriving in Paris Gare du Nord station). Cross paris by subway to go to Paris Gare de Lyon station. There you will take a high speed train to Milan (sometimes you have to change of train In Chambéry). In Milano you have to take trains to get to Brindisi in Southern Italia. There you will find a boat to Athens.

Try also www.bahn.de (=>"internat. guests") and fill in Brindisi as destination to get an idea about how often you'll have to change trains and how long the journey (only the railway part) will last. It's approx. 24 hours.
