You can pretty much get to anywhere in Europe by train from Amsterdam quite easily, but it will take longer than you probably expect. Poland and Denmark will take an long time to get to. Your best bet will be England, Belgium, Germany or France. England will be expensive to get to by train though because the eurostar (the train that goes under the sea) is very expensive, so you might want to travel to Calais in France and take a ferry instead. As for those 'activities' you mentioned, you can do those anywhere in Europe. Why not take in some of the culture instead?

Alkmaar. This centuries old city is about half an hour from Amsterdam in a northwesterly direction and boosts the "Cheese market" where buyers and sellers go the old ways to weigh the famous Edammer cheeses. Another city is Zaandam, very picturesque where the Czar of Russia wanted to learn about ship building. Another place is Haarlem where the St. Bavo church is over 700 years old and where you could visit the Frans Hals museum if that is your bread.

That trip really sounds like fun - fancy-free friends traveling together. I haven't been to Amsterdam yet so I can't offer any advice about that. But I do have a word of caution more generally. I strongly advise all the travelers to get their own independent travel insurance. It is always possible that someone will come up with an issue - a medical problem or an emergency need to change plans. The more people who are involved, the greater the chance. This site will help you sort out your options quickly and easily and you can buy on-line if you wish.

I would go to Paris, France. It is a short train ride away ( 4 hours) and has good nightlife. Might want to check out Montmartre. Berlin is only 6 hours away. They have something called the LOVE PARADE (techno rave). I've never been there - but

I have to go with "ticklemecute97", Rotterdam is really the place to be in the Netherlands. A lot of hot girls during the hot night clubs. It's all near the train station. And at night there are trains riding from Rotterdam to Amsterdam. You could also visit Scheveningen and check out the most famous beach of The Netherlands. There is also a nude beach over there.
