Just be careful. It would be advisable for you to not to travel by yourself. Keep your money and documents with you - not in your luggage. Don't buy any alcohol from the people on the train - first, it's illegal, second, you never know what is it. Just use your common sense and you will be all right. Have a nice journey!

I wouldn't go to Kiev if I were you. It's a bit of a "wild west" on the border. If you really need to go there don't carry all your money with you and watch out for policemen. Take a friend with you if only possible.
