Yes you should buy insurance. Chances are your health insurance plan does not cover injuries that occur out of the US and if you have to get airlifted back to the states you will be in debt for at least 20k. Travel insurance will also cover things such as lost luggage and pay the penalty if you have to cancel your reservations at the last second.

You might need to get some hurricane insurance.. Dude it's hurricane season! Not saying that it will happen but I think all the insurance that they offer you will be best. I stress & tell every1 to get travel insurance on any trip that you go on, specially out the country. But have fun in Jamaica Mon'!! Transfers are cheaper @ the airport!( booth 13) I just learn that. I paid $40 RT per person w/my trip & I over heard the guy tell the next to me that it would cost her $13 RT to the same place that I was going! I got rob by my travel agency!

Health care is VERY expensive in Ja. Most hospitals are also far away and not easy to get to. Most places if you get hurt want cash. Check into Ins. for travel or if your Ins. covers you abroad. Most places in Jamaica automatically include hurricane protection. Sandals I know includes it. They will pay for your second vacation back if a hurricane comes.

Yes, your health insurance most likely does not cover you outside the US. I always advise my clients to get insurance, and I do when I travel as well. Here are the best ones, in my opinion:www.travelguard.comwww.travelsafe.comwww.csa.com
