Question : Cell phone for travelling Denmark and the UK - Can you recommend the best/cheapest way to do this?
- asked by GMM
All Answers: Answer #1 Depending whether you have a cell phone provider and what type of phone you have. I know Cingular has SIM cards that can be used (in certain phones). They have the cards for different regions/countries. - answered by wyldfyrsprite
Answer #2 You can bring your cell phone but as soon as you depart US (I assume this is your point of departure), take your SIM card out. When you get to your destination (denmakr or UK), purchase a prepaid SIM card for the duration of your stay there. This is by far the cheapest option you've got (around $10-$20 with lots of minutes). And all countries in Europe offer prepaid SIM card which you can acquire in any cell phone store in the area. If you do, however, decide to use your original SIM card, you will be charged very differently. (~$2 per minute + charges associated with the host country carrier). - answered by gudrun077
