I wouldn't think you would need a driver's license at all unless you are going to be driving there. Or if you're 21 and want to drink, but all you need is an ID for that...not a license.

Yes, because it has your photo on it. Hawaii is a state also.

You'll need an airline ticket and the photo ID will be requireed for you to get checked in and get through security to the plane. A driver's license is fine. I Hawaii you are still in the USA so there's no need for a passport.
