Question : How do I travel from Munich to Stuttgart by public transport?

Air Berlin is great because they're not very expensive.

avoid the train coz i know from experience that they're always full (if you reserve a place it's a different story though!) and sometimes unpunctual so that you miss your connection

Take a train but not ICE (bullet train). You can take via Ulm

try out the link www.bahn.de this page is also in English. and they are not always not in time, but especially during the world cup, there will be no problem to travel from Munich to Stuttgart.

Check with www.bahn.de (German Railroad). They offer direct service between the two cities with one or two connections per hour. It takes 2:21 hrs at 39-46 Euro(2nd class). As you are travelling during the games, the trains might be filled up, so check out 1st class at 61-72 Euro.

If you travel on weekends, 5 people can travel with weekend ticket on train,, and it costs you around 30 euros. Normally ICE should cost you 40 euros per person and normal trains around 35 euros per person.
