Answer #2
If you fly Lufthansa, they book you directly through to the train, carry your bags, and you don't pay extra for this. Try to get a direct train, you can book online at www.bahn.de in advance and save money if not using Lufthansa.

The others forgot to mention that Frankfurt Airport has a nice long-distance train station (Fernbahnhof) where you can catch your train without going into the city. Train tickets can be bought on the lower level, then walk away from the terminal, hang a right and take the escalator way, way up, then right again past the Sheraton entrance to the end of the hall. Trains are down the escalator and there is a ticket booth at this point as well. Do not confuse this station with the local station in the airport, which is underground.
