Question: #1: How to visit Buddhist Temples?
I am going to hawaii so I won'y be able to go to my regular temple. Still the temples in hawaii are beautiful but mostly Japanese.I am non-denominational however I usually attend Vietnamese temple with a fluent friend. At the temples I've attended the procedure is:Travel about the temple to various shrines praying by holding a burning incense and moving your hands up and down while praying and/or reciting mantras. Then we put donation money in the shrine boxes. When we are through weusually look at the temple store, chat with nuns/monks, and admire the temple. Are procedures different at the temples in oahu and kuai?

Answer: It depends on the temple. Removing shoes is generally a rule of thumb, as I'm sure you well know. Just be polite, maybe a bit quiet when talking, etc. _()_ ...
