Kauai is as close as one can come to the fantasy world of "Bali Hai." The Garden Island, as it is nicknamed, is a tropical paradise blessed with a mild climate, wide sand beaches, and waterfall etched mountains. It is the oldest and most northerly of the Hawaiian Islands. It was the first of the Hawaiian Islands that Captain Cook visited and it was the last of Hawaii's independent kingdoms. The first successful sugar plantation was established here in 1835. Only on Kauai does the Mokihana berry grow and it was here that the legendary race of little people--the Menehune--flourished.

Question: #1: How to visit Buddhist Temples?
I am going to hawaii so I won'y be able to go to my regular temple. Still the temples in hawaii are beautiful but mostly Japanese.I am non-denominational however I usually attend Vietnamese temple with a fluent friend. At the temples I've attended the procedure is:Travel about the temple to various shrines praying by holding a burning incense and moving your hands up and down while praying and/or reciting mantras.Then we put donation money in the shrine boxes.When we are through weusually look at the temple store, chat with nuns/monks, and admire the temple.Are procedures different at the temples in oahu and kuai? - asked by A&F
