Was wonderful - have done a lot of travelling and preferred Varadero to a lot of other places. No Americans, but lots of Europeans. Cubans are a wonderful bunch, very freindly, and want to help...

beaches uses audience for free entertainment  
Don't whatever you do volunteer to go on stage for the nightly entertainment..they save $ by getting people from the audience and humiliating them with a vulgar 'Miss Varadero' contest...

Been there twice, go back in a second  
The beach was truly amazing, you've heard it eoungh and won't really know how amazing until you see it for yourself. The food was not so good, but you don't go to Cuba for the food....
