Logan Canyon Scenic Byway (From Salt Lake City, UT - Grand Teton National Park)

Total Tour Distance / Duration
Distance: 300 miles
Duration: 6 hours 5 mins
Start: Salt Lake City
End: Grand Teton National Park
State / Country: Utah, Wyoming, U.S.A.
There are few ways to get to Grand Teton National. One of the suggestions is to drive from Salt Lake City, UT, about 300 miles to Grand Teton National Park, a drive that has some nice scenic stretches.

One of the scenic routes suggested here is to take the Logan Canyon Scenic Byway. Driving to Bear Lake, after a 3,000-foot [914.4-meter] climb, the road opens up to spectacular views of Bear Lake, shining jewel-like turquoise. Moose, elk, and deer are abundant in Logan’s forests, and you can often spot them along the drive.

Down by the lake, Garden City contains a marina and numerous shacks selling local raspberry jam and delicious raspberry shakes. Wide, sandy swimming beaches line the lake along the road southeast to Laketown.

Continue on your journey thru Jackson, WY, a town famous for the large arches of shed elk antlers at the entrances to the town square. Grand Teton National Park is just 20 miles north of Jackson, WY.
